I'm pretty sure as teenagers, this is something we all have trouble with. I'm sure if you asked a teen something she loved about her body, she wouldn't even be able to tell you. We're so used to being down on ourselves that we can't even think of the positives anymore. I personally worry about my weight, and I just hate it when it nags at me. If you looked at me though, you'd probably say I was skinny/not overweight. But that's what it is, no matter if you want to lose 80 pounds or 10 pounds, we all feel terrible about ourselves. We all feel guilty when we eat those cheese fries late at night, and we all feel like shit when we try on our jeans and they don't fit in the way we want them to. No one realizes what is running through your mind, because to them, you look fine. But I know that it's difficult for you. It's a constant struggle of wondering how you look, feeling hopeless, and what you're going to do about these thoughts and feelings.
All I can tell you is to stop constantly thinking and stressing over it. When I say looks aren't everything, I mean it. I know we all think that the only way we're ever going to get a boyfriend is if we have a six pack, but that's not true. You need to realize that if a guy doesn't want to get to know you because of your appearances, then he is a shallow bastard who doesn't deserve you. Seriously. Don't let your insecurities about your bodies rule your life. If this is constantly affecting the way you live and your happiness, then you need to take action. The first step is hard, but extremely rewarding. We need to stop treating food like it's our best friend and our enemy. You can't go to it every time you get into a fight with your friend, or immediately after you fail your chemistry test. But you also can't skip meals, and treat food as if it's the plague. You need to find a balanced medium. You need to figure out what you need to do to be happy with yourself, whether that be joining a gym, or going for runs with your ipod. Once you start living a healthier lifestyle, you'll feel so much better and proud of yourself.
So stop beating yourself up about your weight, it's getting you nowhere. Your body doesn't reflect how caring, hardworking, or passionate of a person you are. This sounds so corny, I know, but what's inside is so much more important. The skinniest person will still get nowhere in life if they're a lazy and nasty person. You have so much more over the girl with the perfect body, I guarantee it.
