I went through everything I wrote in my microsoft word "My book" folder yesterday(that was a goddamn blur of horrible,corny,and not-bad writing...not the point though), and found this and really liked it(not in a cocky way,but in a pleasantly surprised way),So in the midst of The Buried Life craze over their book coming out next Spring (FMLAJASDOEAALKN:D!!!),and the letters and all that, I thought that this post would be appropriate.

We love them so much because they've done what we could never imagine doing. They've gone the opposite of conventional, and what you are "supposed" to be doing in life. Focusing on getting a good education and a good paying job, and living these planned out lives to please others. In reality, the purpose of life is to be happy, on your deathbed, you're not going to be happy with yourself for living the life you we're supposed to live,-you're going to be happy with yourself for going out into the world without the fear of failing and disappointing others; and doing exactly what made you feel good all of the time. We need to erase the lines and paths in our lives. We need to just let ourselves have an empty canvas. Let yourself figure out what makes you happy, and actually act on it. Whether it be big or small decisions, they both change your life and the way you live. You don't want to live life unhappy. We all have our bad days, or even bad weeks, that's understandable. Life isn't meant to be all highs and no lows, because then you won't be proud of yourself for getting through the hard stuff. Live your life the way you want to, but in an actual positive and fulfilling way. Don't let your vision be blurred by things that make you feel good in the moment. Whether it be majoring in finance or doing drugs, think to yourself when you begin acting on this decision "What is this going to do for me in the grand scale of my life?"
Just jump in. Even if you're scared, don't let it ruin you. Do what you feel. Have the mindset that you want to feel happy and fulfilled-if that is what impacts all of your decisions, then you can never be wrong, no matter how your decision turns out.

“If you have something you want to do with your life, don’t take no for an answer. If it means something to you, do it. And you don’t have to listen to anybody else, or whatever anybody else thinks of what you want to do, just do it, if you feel it is important.” Jonnie Penn
