What a day.

Today is the day we had the assembly for Rachel's challenge. If you don't know, she was one of the 13 kids who were shot and killed in the Columbine High School shooting in 1999. And now i'm sitting in my schools' computer lab,and I can't contain myself from writing about it.
It's just a lot to take in in less than two hours. Her brother was the speaker for it, which makes it all the more personal and heart-wrenching. She wrote all of these journals about how she knew she was going to change the world, and how spreading compassion was the most important thing in life. She was so amazing in the way she looked at how our relationships with each other should be. With friends and with strangers. She did random acts of kindness for others, just because she felt it was right to do so, and she changed lives that way, even before her death. One of the most impacting facts, is that she had this premonition that she was going to die young. She would tell friends and family members that, and she accepted it; as if it wasn't a big deal.
It really saddens me that this girl with so much ambition to do incredible things for other people and their lives is gone. She was such a rare human being, there will never be another girl like her. At the same time, i'm so happy to see that her family continued the story for her. She was able to make an impact on the world, just like she said. And I hope somehow, she is able to know from wherever she is right now, that she did exactly what she wanted to accomplish.
If you want to know more about Rachel's challenge, i'm sure interviews with her family are all over youtube, you can google it, and her journals were published into a couple of books. Her influence is everywhere, it's an incredible thing.
Afterwards, me and my friends hugged each other and said we loved each other. People were crying, because it did make that big of an impact. I didn't cry, which I guess I should feel bad about, but I just don't cry easily. But I got pretty close.
So guys, please tell everyone you love today how much they mean to you. You have a lot of in your life that care about you, and that you care about, and they need to know that. You never know what tomorrow brings.
