Valentine's Day.

The day of lo0o0o0ve. As a single person, I am supposed to be pulling my hair out, crying while watching a sappy movie, and eating an entire box of chocolates; to soften the blow of not having a boyfriend. In reality, I have no reason to do any of those things (Except eat the chocolates,I love chocolate..) Typically, Valentines day is supposed to be either the greatest day ever, or the worst. If you are in a relationship, Valentines day is supposed to be mind-blowingly romantic, with teddy bears, nice dinners, and jewelry galore. If you are single, it is supposed to be a day full of self-loathing, and binge eating. I don't like either of these situations, because they are "expected", and may not actually happen.
If you are in a relationship and you put all of this pressure on Valentines day to be amazing, and then it doesn't happen-you are going to be extremely disappointed. I am no expert on relationships (really), but I would suspect that the best days of any relationship aren't planned. Most truly incredible moments can't be planned, and that is the beauty of them.
If you are single, you shouldn't feel the pressure to treat the entire day like it is hell on earth and a sham. I understand that some people have past relationships that were messy, and today may remind you of it, but you should let yourself get past that.  The bottom line is- today is about love, which can be given to any relationship you have. You don't have to be in a romantic relationship to enjoy it, or at least try to. The thing I'm worried about people doing today is deeming themselves worthless because they don't have a significant other. Whether or not you have one does not mean you aren't desirable, beautiful, or an incredible human being. You are gorgeous, inside and out, I swear.
If today, you would like to do the whole get together with your friends, eat unhealthy food, and cry together, then I am going to fully support that. Today of all days, is your free pass to do it. Here are some suggestions for what you can eat, watch, and listen to(because this is pretty much what I'll be doing)
Eat: Heart shaped donuts from Dunkin Donuts, 20 nuggets for 5$ from McDonald's, and heart shaped pizza's from Papa Johns. And chocolate, lots of chocolate..Dove, and Godiva, and Reese's peanut butter cups and every other chocolate related food on this planet.
Watch: Sex&the city<3 , 500 days of Summer, The Notebook, The Last Song, or any sappy/romantic movie your heart desires.
Listen to: The Script- For the first time, Glee- Silly love songs, My love- New politics, Welcome to Heartbreak-Kanye West

And absolutely NO self-loathing, I mean it!

                 Happy Valentines Day!
