Self-worth is an important thing. How much you think your life is worth, is a very important thing. For some people this happens automatically in whatever they do. Just by waking up in the morning, they feel like they are worth something. For some of us, it is a little bit harder than that. I remember the constant feeling that my life meant something, but in the past couple of years it's become something that is a lot more difficult to acquire.
Feeling like your life and your general being is insignificant, is not a good place to be in. It feels like a job, trying to make yourself believe that your life actually means something. One thing that I do know (Yes, I actually know something beforehand for once,as opposed to the burst of discovery I usually have while writing), is that once you start treating your life like it is worthless, you're going to start to believe it. The initial reaction to feeling terrible is to stop doing things. To lay in your bed and sleep, to eat, to waste time on the internet or on TV, just to do anything easy that distracts you from reality. We become so tired of trying to be happy and failing, or giving our all to things and not getting what we deserve from them; that we just stop making the effort. If you are someone who continues to do this(Like me), you need to stop (With me). It's extremely extremely bad for your mind-set, I promise you. You cannot stop living because you are emotionally broken, because you are giving yourself absolutely no chance to be fixed. You can't just completely stop caring about your grades, your health, or your relationships, I promise you that it isn't going to make you feel better. If you continue to let go of things, you're just going to feel even more hollow.
What I can tell you is, give your all to what is laid in front of you in every moment. Accomplish it, and move on from it. Don't half-ass everything, because this is not going to give you the feeling of relief you're looking for. Do as much as you can for the things you don't care about. For the things you are passionate about, push your limits and give your all to them. This could be what makes the difference between living the life you dream of or not.
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. -William James
