As 2010 comes to a close...

I can't help but reflect, obviously this isn't unexpected. This year, wasn't the greatest for me. It was pretty much one long period of difficult emotions harboring inside of me, and eating away at me. Although it wasn't great, I've learned a lot about myself, which I am very grateful. No matter how bad my mind-set can get, I have never stopped learning about myself and what I want for my life. Even though I haven't felt fantastic, I have had good moments, and good people in my life, who kept me going. As much as I don't want to believe it, 2010 wasn't just some shit-fest made to ruin me. I'm trying to leave all of the negative of it behind, but keep my positive ideals with me.
I'm not going to rant about all of the things I'd like to do in 2011, because writing 5 pages of the changes you'd like to make within yourself isn't the point of the New Year. When thinking about your own resolutions, think about what you can really see happening for yourself in a year. Even if something seems far-fetched, if you even some-what believe you can accomplish it; go for it. This year I'd like to take things less seriously, while continuing to work towards whats important to me. Simple as that. When you make a resolution, you're giving yourself the entire year to accomplish it. Don't think you will be a changed person when January 1st hits, or even when June 1st does. Throughout the year, you do need to feel like you are making a progression. Everyday, you need to be acting on the changes you'd like to make, this isn't a once a month or once a week thing.
This year, be good to the people who care about you. Be open to new opportunities, because they are happening constantly; and just one could be life changing. If the world isn't working in your favor, create your own luck.
Most importantly, take care of yourself, At the end of the day, this is what is most valuable. Allow yourself to make mistakes, don't torture yourself over them. Always do what is in your best interest, because what may be right for everyone else, isn't going to be the same for you.
Thank you to whoever reads this, gives me feedback, and has been immensely kind and encouraging to me. I'm so grateful for all of the new friendships I have with such incredible people. You don't know how much it means to me. I hope I'm able to reach even more people through my writing in 2011:)
Here's hoping that 2011 is amazing to all of us!
